Strawberry Lactation Oats

Right now I’m all about doing whatever I can to maintain/increase my milk supply. I actually wasn’t so sure breastfeeding would work out for me - you really never know if your baby is going to be able to latch correctly, if your milk supply will be enough, etc. I feel super lucky that it is working out so far (keep in mind we’re only on week 2). That being said, I wake up ravenous every morning and this oatmeal is keeping me full longer. It’s full of complex carbs for energy and lactation benefits, fiber and Omega-3 rich chia, protein packed hemp and antioxidant rich berries.

Ingredients:

1/2 c oats

1 c water

1 egg white

1 tbs chia seeds

1 tbs hemp seeds

1 tbs nut butter

1 tbs Thrive Market strawberry fruit spread

Splash of almond milk

Fresh strawberries

Instructions:

  1. Cook the oats in water. Honestly, I do mine in the microwave because it’s quicker, but if you prefer to do it on the stove that works too. I put mine in the microwave for 45 seconds.

  2. Add the egg white and pop back in the microwave for 25 seconds. Stir immediately so the egg white cooks into the oats.

  3. Add the nut butter, chia, hemp, strawberry spread and a splash of almond milk and stir.

  4. Top with sliced strawberries.
